Spring Break: Miami Edition
What Tory's wearing for a quick trip to Miami this week. And ideas of where to go and what to pack for a few days in the Magic City.
Tory is on a whirlwind trip to Miami to celebrate our Spring Fling pop-up at Nordstrom and visit our Aventura boutique, a schedule packed with breakfasts, dinners, talks and meeting with students at design school Istituto Marangoni. Here’s what she wore yesterday.
Top: Our collared crewneck, the perfect little spring sweater.
Pants: The high-waisted twill trousers from resort. Crisp and relaxed. We love how they puddle ever so slightly, creating a longer line.
Handbag: The pillowy soft Kira Diamond Quilt, a new best-seller.
Sunglasses: The new Runway Sunglass in dark gray. Cool as a cucumber.
Jewelry: A front-to-back fluted spike from FW24.
Tory’s trip has inspired us to create some warm-weather ensembles that you might find handy for an upcoming spring break trip or any city-by-the-beach getaway. We pegged ours to Miami destinations on Team Tory’s radar.
With its airy, open architecture and lush hanging gardens designed by Herzog & de Meuron, Pérez Art Museum is worth a visit for the setting itself. The museum’s current shows — Yayoi Kusama’s “Love is Calling” and Gary Simmons’ “Public Enemy” — are the draw.
What to wear: The Walter Schels Rabbit Printed Denim skirt anchors the look. We’d keep the rest of the look monochrome and easy with our elevated take on the white T-shirt, new Miller sunglasses with a subtly asymmetrical frame, the Eleanor satchel and Mary Jane ballets.
Tory loves the thrill of the vintage hunt. To wit: Our first tunic was inspired by a Parisian flea market find, and her self-confessed favorite insomnia pastime is scrolling LiveAuctioneers and 1stDibs. In short: It’s in our DNA. Stores on our Miami wish list: Fly Boutique and Antiques & Design Miami.
What to wear: Something old, something new with a vintage soul, something retro-futuristic. You’ll find it all here. Our Deconstructed Denim Skirt, paired with a fab vintage tee from Procell, the Mini Swing bag in apple green, Runway Sunglasses, the Classic Flip Flop and a beaded bracelet from NST, a woman-owned jewelry brand based in Miami.
A beach day is a necessity, and Miami Beach’s iconically colorful lifeguard towers add that extra something to the experience and to any selfies that may be snapped.
What to wear: With the city in close proximity, we like a balance of beach fare (bohemian and bare) with elements of polish, structure and cool. This new cotton poplin skirt is that elusive cover-up that handles beach/pool time as well as shopping, lunch or gallery-hopping. The elastic waist makes for a quick on-and-off, while the built-in beaded belt elevates it beyond basic. It pairs perfectly with any bikini top, like this chocolate halter bandeau. We love the color pop of this Mini Ella Bio (not to mention the durable beach-proof material) and new Ines slides. To finish: the Eleanor Pilot sunglasses.
Tory hosted a small dinner last night at Casa Tua, the scene-y South Beach restaurant with the loveliest garden. Our special twist on the service: the Italian menu was served on Tory Burch home: Happy Times linens with Green Oiseau dinner and starter plates.
What to wear: If ever there was a right moment for an unabashed Going-Out Top, a fun Miami dinner is it. We love the subtle lizard motif of the studded halter from Resort ’24 paired with the relaxed tailoring of the collection’s twill pants. Don’t overthink the shoe: this little kitten heel mule does the trick. Add a pair of sleek, mixed-metal bangles and Kira handbag in Deco-ish green, and you’re out the door.
vintage tees + denim is always a good combination 💕
TB looks lovely as always❤️
